Antique Dresser

Antique Dresser with mirror.....all dressed up in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  I had to try the ASCP and now I'm in love. It lived up to all my expectations and everything anyone has ever said about it is true. It's. AMAZING.  Too bad it costs a bazillion dollars or I would get it in every color.  I bought this dresser off CL and it was in need of a lot of repair.  Good thing I'm handy with the wood glue, clamps, wood filler and power tools.  I love fixing things that someone else has given up on.  Here she is before:

(mirror laying on top)

Yikes! Piece of wood missing....that's gonna cost a lot to fix!  Or is it?!

Oh hello wood filler....I love wood filler.

Wow, that's impressive!  Thanks, I know. :)

Here's she is after:

The top is stained in Minwax Dark Walnut...so are the knobs.

I Mod Podged some pages from the Bicentennial Almanac inside the drawers. The pages have really neat information about historical dates and pictures. It's always nice to have a little history in your antique dresser. *wink wink*...I'm so clever....haha!

She will be in my shop. :)

Awesome what paint and wood filler can do. It's a beautiful color and you've brought it back to life!

I just did a post on homemade chalk paint for us thrifty (cheap) furniture refinishers. -Jill
