I got a smokin' deal on these two end tables.....or are they night stands. I'm not sure what makes it a night stand or an end table so to me they could be both. (If you know the answer, I would LOVE to know). :) They were $5.99 each. YAY! I did have to take off the existing tops and replace them cause they were covered in yucky veneer and I just didn't want to deal with getting it all off so I didn't. To much racket for me. I got out my tools so I could distress them. A hammer, fork and chisel did the job. My husband even helped me....what man doesn't like to him things with a hammer, right? I then took some glaze and mixed in a little brown paint and gave them a good rub down. I replaced the wood knobs with these rustic copper bronze ones and tada! I love how all the nicks and crannies catch the brown glaze. Let me know what you think. :)

Breathing New Life Into An Old Cast Away
If you are reading this, thank you! I just started this blog and I'm super excited about the fun, fabulous finds that I will get to recreate and post on here! I have found my calling in life. OK, I'm being dramatic. My real calling is being a wife and mother but on top of that I LOVE refinishing fabulous (fabulous to me) pieces of furniture that have been cast aside and left for dead. I found this fantastic coffee table at what is now one of my favorite stores, GW. She needed a makeover baaaaad. Here she is all crusty and blah.
(Of course my kids promptly took over as soon as I brought her in the house. Typical.)

And here she is after! She is GLOWING! She must feel how I do after I get a fresh highlight and a pedi. Makes me ~smile~. Hope you like her!
